Natural Heaven's foods substitutes are made from the hearts of palm derived from peach palm, a specie also known as "bactris gasipaes", which is definitely not the same as palm oil is harvest, and the hearts of palm we use are native to the forest of Central and South America from existing fields (far way from the orangutans, as they only live in the rain forest of Southeast Asia islands and Sumatra).
Our farmers use a multiple steam system so that the palm can sustainable regrow for years and If additional fields are needed, our farmers replace an existing field that was already used for harvest purposes.
